Collection: Bears of the Great Smoky Mountains
The black bear is an important part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
They are very smart and when not napping, can move at a quick rate (up to 30 MPH)! The can weigh anywhere from 250 to 550 pounds as an adult. A baby bear can only weigh 8 ounces at birth.
Remember to clean up trash if you camp (they like human food too) and if approached by a bear, back away very slowly while making some noises to frighten it away.
Visitors hope to see and photograph these amazing and beautiful creatures. You can capture a memory of the black bear and the Smokies in several of Terri Waters paintings. While visiting Terri Waters Gallery, on the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community loop, you will experience some of the wildlife captured in Terri's Art.
