CADES COVE AUTUMN:
A Smokies landscape depicting the historic Dan Lawson cabin in Cades Cove. Autumn had come to the sheltered valley of Cades Cove, its vibrant colors coursing through the surrounding hills like wildfire. Dan Lawson was an influential citizen of Cades Cove and married Mary Jane Cable in 1850. He was a postmaster and justice of the peace in the Cove. His home still stands as a monument to his life and times.
