A floral watercolor of Gay Wings, a Smokies wildflower that blooms in April and May. Clumps of these tiny bright pink flowers can be seen along many Smoky Mountain trails, including the hike to Abrams Falls. The two petals of the flower give the appearance of a bird in flight. Other common names include Bird on the Wing and Flowering Wintergreen.
