THE CHIMNEYS ARE CALLING:
A Smoky Mountain landscape painting of the Chimney Tops at dusk in late summer. At an elevation of 4,800 feet, the Chimney's rare rock summit, shown in the painting, used to afford some of the best views in the park. However, with the November 2016 wildfires, the iconic pinnacles that made the trail so popular were closed due to burn damage. Visitors now can enjoy vistas from a new viewing platform looking over the Bullhead and Sugarland Mountain areas.
