WINTER VIGIL - THE BECKY CABLE HOUSE:
A Cades Cove winter landscape of the homestead of Becky Cable in the Smoky Mountains. Built over 100 years ago, the Becky Cable House was the first framed house in the Cove. Its owner, Becky Cable (1844-1940), who never married, ran a mill, farmed, raised cattle, ran a store, took in boarders and cared for the orphaned children of her brother. She was a true pioneer woman.
